Troy Perry is a Private Investigator and instructor for Catawba Valley Community College in the School of Public Safety.  He has been teaching self-defense since 1989 and in 2001 added firearms safety and marksmanship instruction to the list of services he provides.  Troy has served in the US Marine Corps, has a BS in Criminal Justice, is a Black Belt in Kempo Karate and is certified through the NRA as a Range Safety Officer & Basic Pistol Shooting instructor.  Troy has also been certified by the NC Department of Justice to teach the Concealed Carry Handgun Safety class.

      Troy is also the lead investigator and general manager for The Contingency Group's Investigations and Security Consulting Division.  Originally licensed in 1996, he has been serving the Charlotte area as a licensed PI and security consultant.  Troy has provided executive protection and site security management in Central America, the US and Canada.  Executive protection details have included NASCAR drivers as well as political dignitaries in operations both foreign and domestic.
