An important message about taking the NC Concealed Carry Handgun Safety Course:

   It may be tempting to take a shortcut in the training required for a Concealed Handgun Permit.  However, it may not be worth it in the end.  Sheriffs and the Department of Justice are aware that some instructors have been asked to cut corners in training, and they are looking into the problem.  If you are trying to take a class shorter than 8 hours it could compromise your application process.  To be sure you are receiving the proper training, register for one of our classes or call us for a reference in your area.

NRA First Steps for Pistol Shooting


CRPC Indoor Range - 485 & Independence Blvd


     Our instructors will be conducting NRA FIRST Steps Pistol and Home Firearm Safety classes at CRPC's indoor range.  These classes will start in July of 2010 and end in May of 2011.  Troy Perry and Howard Perry, along with the occasional guest instructor, will be teaching these courses and will bring many years of experience to the classroom.  Both instructors are certified by the NRA and NC Department of Justice.
  • All those 18 years and older are welcome.
  • No shooting experience necessary.
  • Private coaching is available for previous FIRST Steps' students.
  • On-line registration and prepayment are required.

NRA FIRST Steps Pistol $75

     NRA FIRST Steps Pistol is great for anyone who would like to learn the basic fundamentals of shooting.  This class discusses and provides hands on training (including live-fire) for most common handguns.  Students will receive a textbook and a course certificate.  (Classes are limited to 10 students and the $75 course fee covers all materials and range fees.)

Doors Open: 5:30 PM
Class Begins:  6:00 PM
Class Dismiss: 10:00 PM
