"I have been using A-Zoom Snap Caps for years.  They make a great training aid as well as a preservation tool."

An important message about taking the NC Concealed Carry Handgun Safety Course:

It may be tempting to take a shortcut in the training required for a Concealed Handgun Permit.  However, it may not be worth it in the end.  Sheriffs and the Department of Justice are aware that some instructors have been asked to cut corners in training, and they are looking into the problem.  If you are trying to take a class shorter than 8 hours it could compromise your application process.  To be sure you are receiving the proper training, register for one of our classes or call us for a reference in your area.

   Lewis Perkins
   Reloading Instructor
   Firearms Instructor

Lewis Perkins is a 14 year veteran of law enforcement in North Carolina, and was a Force Protection Officer in Kosovo before becoming a UN Civilian Police Officer also in Kosovo.  Perkins has been instructing on many levels of firearms use for over 20 years, and was a Basic Law Enforcement Training Instructor.  In some local NC police departments, he was even instrumental in the cross over training from revolvers to automatics.

Not long after the war ended and certainly not before the shooting stopped, Lewis began his career as a contractor for the UN Civilian Police and was re-located to Kosovo in 2000.  It was during this operation that he became a field training officer and Chief of Investigations.  As part of his duty in Kosovo, Lewis started a familiarization course of fire using locally confiscated weapons to train new NATO troops.  These troops included the USMC, US Army, Finland Army, and the Ireland Army (south).

Since the early 70's when he got his first Lee hand loader kit that required a hammer to drive the cases in and out of the dies, Lewis has enjoyed the art of reloading, but with today's equipment he can reload 1,800 rounds an hour, and enjoys it a lot more.  For Lewis, re-loading is a passion, and in the past he has held an FFL for manufacturing ammunition.  Needless to say, Lewis Perkins is a great asset to the group.
